The four-second fall from the Golden Gate Bridge sent my babysitter Sarah plunging 245 feet at 75 miles per hour to hit the waters of the San Francisco Bay. Jumping off the bridge holds a 98 percent fatality rate. But Sarah lived. She was put on a psychiatric hold in the hospital. After several months she was allowed to leave for the day. Back at her childhood home, Sarah stole her parents' car, drove it to the bridge and jumped to her death. 'Vertigo' zooms into those 4 seconds in the air. What does it feel like to inhabit Sarah's body and mind?
